Expedition Training
Learn the basics of expedition by doing!
Fresh from his Norway expedition, Mark will be excited to share his hard-fought insights on the essentials of expeditioning by doing a multi-day trip along Maine's famous "Downeast" coast line.  Long crossings, strong currents, fog, exposed conditions, no landing zones are all possibilities we'll be expected to deal with.  Trip planning, meal prep & clean-up, you’ll get the whole experience in length of time that’s doable.  So if you've ever dreamed of doing an expedition yourself, here's a terrific way to develop a great foundation and get a taste for the exciting world of expedition kayaking!
Cost: Call for prices and availability
Duration: 5 days and 5 nights (Sunday Night through Friday--off the water Friday by dinner)
Experience Required:  BCU 3-star (Sea) (or equivalent training, experience, skills)
Equipment Required:  Your own camping and personal gear.  Helmet.

Kayak School - Learn to Kayak

Masters Series

Welcome.  In this series, you've got some fairly serious "chops" and can move a kayak around in a variety of environments with some skill.  Now to continue to build on this foundation you've worked so hard to achieve.

Other Series:  Getting Started Series, Tune-up SeriesSpeciality Series, Downeast Adventures, Coastal Day Trips

Tidal Currents
With the state’s second largest set of reversing rapids in our backyard, we have the perfect training ground for learning to handle sea kayaks in tidal currents. This is the course for you if you’re training to go tackle the big tide races in Europe, preparing for BCU 5-Star someday, or simply want to push your envelope and have some fun.
Price:  $150 (2 person minimum)
Duration:
Full day
Equipment Required:  Helmet
Experience Required:  BCU 3-Star or equivalent training and experience.

Rocks and Ledges
A full-day of playing in the rocks! Pure joy. You’ll soon get the full measure of your boat handling skills. Not for those trying to keep their kayaks scratch-free.
Price:  $150 (2 person minimum)
Duration: Full day
Equipment Required:  Helmet
Experience Required:  BCU 3-Star or equivalent training and experience.

Rolling
We love to roll! Whether it be with "Euro" blades , Greenland paddles, or hands only. Rolling is the best of all self-rescue techniques, and on a hot summer's day there's nothing better than a little "rotary cooling." Whether you're a beginner, or an experienced kayaker with an urge to expand your repertoire, this class is for you. Class size limited to no more than two students.
Cost: $25
Duration: 1 hour; to learn rolling, we favor several short classes over one long one.
Experience Required: A controlled (panic-free) wet exit.
