Are there classes still available at this late date?

Yes - Most classes still have some spots left.

However, we did have to cancel the 4 Star Sea Leader Assessment and the 3 Star Sea assessment.  If you were looking to do that, John Carmody with Nigel Robinson will be conducting that assessement and and around that same time.  Contact john@seacliffkayakers.com

We've also begun trimming classes that didn't generate enough interest, so check and refresh our symposium schedule page often

5th Annual

Downeast Sea Kayaking Symposium

Bar Harbor, Maine
Sept. 10-13, 2010

Mark and Mel answering your questions

When and Where do I check in?

For your initial planning purposes, we'll have a table set-up at 17 Hadley Point road from 4pm-6:30 pm on Thursday night the 9th for folks to check in if they're here that early.

On Friday we'll have the table set-up from 6:45 am-8:30 am for the same purpose.  Please come by before going to your class to pick-up your registration materials and sign your release forms.

Do I really have to check in?

Yes!   You will need to sign the liability waiver, check and confirm your assigned classes, pick-up you package, etc.  Our coaches have been instructed not to allow anyone into a class unless they've been to the check-in.

What package?

Your registration package will have your schedule, maps, local offers, t-shirts (for full symposium registrants), etc.

Will someone be available to answer questions?

Symposium Central will be 17 Hadley Point Road.  This will be where you can make changes, ask questions, hear announcements, arrange car pooling, and generally hang out.

Can I change classes during the symposium?

If you want to change a class, it must be done by 6:30 pm the day before the change.  We'll have someone at the table each night from 5pm-6:30pm.  Of course this will depend on whether there's room in the class and whether you have the appropriate prerequistes.

Will there be used boats or gear for  sale?

One of our sponsors, Cadillac Mountain Sports is selling demo boats, there'll be a list with prices in your package.

Also, if any of you want to sell your personal boats or gear, feel free to put a sign up, or post something at Symposium Central.
